Provides a mechanism for posting course materials, and for communicating among instructors and students.
Features:
Gradations of access for Instructors, Assisting Instructors, Supporting Staff, Teaching Assistants, Students, and Guests.
System to upload and distribute documents to students. Documents can include:
"Normal" documents such as handouts and lecture notes
Multimedia elements such as movies and animations
Essentially anything you can put in a computer file
Online gradebook that meets all current privacy requirements
Password protection for course materials, and automatic encryption of transmission of information, to protect student privacy and instructional materials.
Online exams and quizzes
Online course evaluations and surveys, eliminating the need to pass out "bubble sheets".
Discussion group system to interact with students online.
Specialized tools for study questions, Frequently Asked Questions, and links to other sources of information.
E-mail tool for communicating with students without having to collect all their E-mail addresses.
The system was designed for ease of use, and (unlike WebCT), requires no specialized training for instructors or students.
The courseware engine is an in-house design, and customized improvements can be made. The online exams and online survey tools were made expressly for the College of PNHS.

Personal web page servers exist for the School of Pharmacy (http://people.pharmacy.purdue.edu/), the School of Nursing (http://people.nursing.purdue.edu/) and the School of Health Sciences (http://people.healthsciences.purdue.edu/). Instructions for setting up your personal web pages are available on the individual webservers. Note that while PNHS Technical Services maintains the servers, the development of your personal web pages is entirely up to you.
